No replacement announced yet

Kelly Rowland, one of the Destiny’s Child girls and a renowned singer on her own, has just announced that she would be parting ways from longtime manager Matthew Knowles, father of Beyonce, with whom Kelly rose to stardom in the aforementioned band. While no other details have yet been made public, word in the industry is that Kelly will try to take more control over her music career and finances, although a replacement has not been announced yet.

“After a very positive meeting between Kelly Rowland and myself, we have amicably agreed to end our professional relationship. My company, Music World, will continue to manage Destiny’s Child as a group. As an artist Kelly has incredible talent and I only wish her the best. We will always be family first and foremost and as a dad I can only have love for Kelly.” Matthew Knowles said in a press statement released the other day.

Knowles managed Kelly ever since she was just a kid dreaming to be a singer one day, and has also helped bring her up. Because he took the reins when Destiny’s Child broke on the scene, he is mostly responsible for her success in the band, even if her career as a solo artist could never match the level of popularity she reached while with the band. This, is being said, could be one of the reasons that prompted the two to decide to amicably end their business relationship.

Nevertheless, Kelly will always be a part of the Knowles family, both have said in separate statements. Knowles will continue to manage not only Destiny’s Child, as noted above, but also Beyonce and sister Solange as solo artists, and, in all fairness, he has his work cut out for him. Whereas Beyonce is already an internationally established artist, Solange’s foray in music seems to take longer to get at least similar results.

“Matthew Knowles has been a positive influence in my career. I have had great success under his guidance – both as a member of Destiny’s Child and with my solo projects. Although we have decided to part ways professionally, the Knowles family and the entire Music World Entertainment team will always be my family.” Kelly Rowland also said in a statement released yesterday.
