Khloe Kardashian and NeNe Leakes might replace her

Late last week, following a very troubled few days, E! announced that Kelly Osbourne, who had been on Fashion Police for 5 years and had never spoken about wanting to leave, had decided to pursue other projects.

The announcement came hot on the heels of her threat on Twitter to quit if her co-host Giuliana Rancic didn’t apologize to Zendaya Coleman within 24 hours for joking about the dreadlocks she wore at the Oscars 2015, which Rancic said they must have smelled of “patchouli oil or weed.”

Kelly didn’t quit, she was fired

Radar Online claims to have the scoop on what happened from a very well-placed source inside the network: bosses simply had enough when they heard Kelly had threatened to leave over Rancic’s comments. They saw that as a gesture of throwing a co-worker under the bus - on social media, no less, where people are known to be twice as vicious because they’re offered anonymity.

“We are told she was given the option to quit or be fired,” says the tipster. “In reality, she was let go. Producers had had enough. The network stands behind Giuliana and are furious that Kelly bashed her and the show.”

Even though Rancic was wrong to make that insensitive comment, Kelly did turn on a co-worker in a very public manner, instead of waiting for the controversy to play out and hear both sides before speaking up.

Besides threatening to leave, she also hinted that she could (and would) dish a lot of dirt, if it weren’t for the contract that bound her to the network.

It seems that network bosses granted her her wish and got her out of it.

Kelly was being impossible to work with

It wasn’t just her Twitter outburst that got producers determined to see her out the door, the report continues. Apparently, since Joan Rivers died last summer, Kelly had become absolutely impossible to work with, having somehow gotten into her head that she would become the next major “star” of the show.

When producers brought Kathy Griffin as a replacement for Joan, she saw that this would not happen, and she grew more frustrated by the day. The tipping point came with Rancic’s faux-pas, which showed producers that Kelly wasn’t even close to the team player they wanted on the show.

And since we’re on the topic of replacements, rumor has it that E! already has two strong candidates up for Kelly’s position: Khloe Kardashian and NeNe Leakes. Khloe is an E! fixture, so she has the upper hand in this, but NeNe makes for far more interesting and entertaining television.
