Kelly Clarkson has been so ridiculed and picked on in the media that one might have actually expected her to have turned immune to all this much talk about her weight. Not only is this not the case, but she’s actually quite upset about it, especially since her appearance should be no one’s problem but her own. Since she’s happy as she is now, the original American Idol simply can’t understand what the fuss is all about, as she reveals in a recent interview quoted by Us Magazine.

This is, as fans must surely remember, not the first time that Kelly openly talks about her weight and how hurtful it is to hear all these nasty things being said about her in the media. She for one is absolutely happy as she is now and, should she ever change anything about her appearance in the sense of taking active steps to shedding weight, she would do so because she wants to focus on her health, and not because she’s succumbing to the pressure.

Still, hearing all those fat jokes even now has made Kelly sick and tired. “For seven years it’s been happening. It’s like, ‘OK cool, the fat joke’.” Clarkson reveals during an interview with 2Day FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show in Australia, as reported by Us Magazine. And, while she personally has no problem with people picking on her weight, maybe it’s time all the talk stopped since it shouldn’t have begun in the first place.

“I love my body. I’m very much OK with it. I don’t think artists are ever the ones who have the problem with their weight, it is other people.” the singer explains. This is not the first time that Kelly insists her value as a singer and, ultimately, celebrity should be established solely on her work so far and not on her looks. As a matter of fact, several media outlets have also jumped on board with this throughout the years, drawing attention to how the media was bringing down a very talented woman only because she did not look like other pop stars on the scene.

Just recently, Margarita Bertsos of Glamour magazine voiced her discontent at an entire world asking itself whether Kelly Clarkson was pregnant following an appearance on American Idol. She might as well have had a sandwich, Bertsos was saying at the time; and, even if she was pregnant for real, it was no one’s business but her own, since she took the Idol stage as a singer and not to present the media with a hot topic for discussion.
