Actress and glamour model Kelly Brook, known from the British version of “Skins” and the more recent “Piranha 3D,” has suffered a miscarriage. She and her boyfriend were expecting a daughter.

The star confirmed the news that she was pregnant with her first child back in March, on her official Twitter page.

Also then, she revealed he and her boyfriend, rugby-player Thom Evans, whom she’d only started dating some 3 months before that, were expecting a baby girl – understandably, they were over the moon.

Kelly’s rep confirms for People magazine that the actress has suffered a miscarriage, while also asking for the media to show due respect to her at this difficult time.

“I can confirm that Kelly and Thom [Evans] have very sadly lost their baby. They request that everyone please respects their privacy at this very painful time and there will be no further comment,” Brook’s publicist says in a statement cited by the magazine.

While there will be no more comments on this on the official channels, sources close to the couple (who choose to remain unnamed) are telling the British media that Kelly is taking some time off to be with Thom, family and friends who will help her get through this.

She is, as expected, “devastated,” says one such source to the Daily Mail.

“Kelly is understandably devastated, she’s at home and she’s being looked after by Thom and her mum Sandra,” the spy reveals.

“There’s nothing you can say to anyone at a time like this – she just needs to be allowed some time alone to grieve,” the insider explains.

If it’s any consolation to Kelly, countless British celebrities and public figures have already expressed their regret at her miscarriage, taking to Twitter to send their best wishes to her, the Mail notes.

When she first spoke about the pregnancy, Kelly revealed that they didn’t plan it: it just happened and, even though she and Thom had only been dating for 3 months, they were ready to be parents because they were in love.
