Kelly Brook, actress, model and television personality, also happens to have one of the hottest bodies in showbiz right now, it is being said. In top shape without being too skinny, Kelly also has curves, without being fat. She is the ideal woman but, for showbiz, she is an abnormality, which is perhaps it was so hard for her to define her own style and be accepted as a trendsetter, as she reveals for the Daily Mail.

Kelly goes against the trend even as regards her attitude to fashion: she does not have a stylist and she doesn’t wear the clothes designers send her, but chooses them herself. A while back, she realized she mustn’t follow trends blindly but dress for her body shape, with items that accentuate her waist and thus balance out her breasts and her hips. Thus, she’s come to own many dresses that she personally handpicked or had made for her – with this particular item being perhaps her favorite.

“Designers such as Chanel, Vivienne Westwood or Issa are great: they make fabulous, 100 per cent silk wrap-dresses that nip me in perfectly, so I’ve got tons of them. My friend Suzie Turner also custom designs a lot of the dresses I’m photographed in. Topshop is where I head for my basic funky dresses, and if I’m looking for good quality T-shirts and blazers, I like Joseph. It’s important not to scrimp on the items you’re going to be getting loads of wear out of. I’m a big fan of the 1950s, so I go for classic chic with a vintage twist,” Kelly says.

“Blue and pink are my favorite colors – they’re feminine, fresh and make me feel great. I have a handbag fetish, but rather than have a house full of them, I’ve got a couple of expensive classics because they’ll last me for years and go with everything in my wardrobe. If I’m meeting friends for a casual lunch or coffee, I’d wear skinny jeans; my favorite are either the blue or black ones I’ve got from Topshop, teamed with a funky little T-shirt, nice boots and my smart dark grey Joseph blazer. If it’s a little chilly, I’ll pop on a cashmere sweater, such as my black and white stripy one from Full Circle, which I adore,” the star adds.

Of course, dressing well also means dressing appropriately for the occasion, which is another important piece of advice Kelly would give women out there. For nightwear or the red carpet, the stunner goes for fitted dresses, while she tries to keep it classy yet casual for the rest of the time. Accessories are also very important, which is why she has about 10 handbags, 50 pairs of shoes and 10 of boots. However, they’re all investment pieces, Kelly underlines: that is to say, expensive but out of which she gets a lot of wear.
