Has pressure detection and a noise-filtering sensor to read gloved hand gesture

Touchscreens are all well and good, but they don't exactly work well if people don't take their gloves off, so people with cold-sensitive hands will probably like what SMK Corp invented.

Simply put, the company built a new touchscreen which, through pressure detection paired with a noise-filtering sensor, can work just fine even if people have gloves on.

Since cold may be a factor here, it is a good thing that the panel handles just fine the -30 to +85°C range.

Granted, it will take a while for adoption to pick up, and only in-car navigation systems will use this technology at first.

Then again, the feature does work on displays of up to 8 inches, so smartphones and, who knows, maybe even tablets could be eligible in the future.
