Prevent unwanted key press

One of the easiest ways to keep you BlackBerry device locked all the time when you don't use it is offered by the WebGate software developer, in the form of a small application called LockIt. Most BlackBerrys feature a dedicated button that will need to be pressed, so you can actually lock the keyboard. LockIt offers the same feature without the need to press anything, as it will simply do it automatically. I'm sure there are times when you forget to lock your device after a call, especially if you're concentrated on something else. This simple, easy-to-use application ensures that you won't mistakenly dial a number, while keeping you smartphone in your pocket.

LockIt functions like a safe mechanism, by locking your device automatically after a certain period of inactivity, which has been previously defined. To unlock the device, you will need to press a combination of keys. The software is also available for BlackBerry smartphones with touchscreens. You will be able to activate LockIt manually or set the application to automatically start every time the phone is opened. The application will prevent accidental key presses, the automatic key locking after a selected period of inactivity starting from five seconds, a model-specific, intuitive combination of unlocking keys. Note that you will not need a password for unlocking the device.

With LockIt users will be able to define and change the interval after which the device will be locked, define a list of applications on which LockIt will not be available and edit this list of applications, by adding or removing others. The application is available in six different languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Bulgarian. The trial version is limited to 20 device locks, but the full version can be acquired for only 6.90 USD.
