Fantasy pic drops in theaters in the UK on December 26, probably doesn’t stand a chance

A new trailer for “47 Ronin” with Keanu Reeves has been released and, just as you guessed from the title, he is still not afraid, even when he’s threatened by a dragon-shifting sorceress. Check it out in full above.

In “47 Ronin,” Reeves play a Samurai type who’s been banished and who raises an army to fight against the forces of darkness. These happen to include soldiers, giant monsters and, I presume, the aforementioned sorceress.

Hiroyuki Sanada, Ko Shibasaki, Tadanobu Asano, Rinko Kikuchi and Zombie Boy also star, with Carl Rinsch at the helm.

“47 Ronin” will be out in theaters in the UK on December 26 and I have a feeling critics will be having a field day murdering it before fans even get a proper chance to see it.

At the same time, I think it could still redeem itself if it doesn’t make the mistake of taking itself too seriously. RZA’s “The Man with the Iron Fists” is a beautiful example of how this type of movies should be treated to be both fun and appreciated.
