Ke$ha talks upcoming album “Cannibal,” says haters will always be haters

Singer Ke$ha may be a hit with audiences but some critics are still relentless about her vocal skills: in a recent interview with New York Magazine, the star talks about her worth, her upcoming album and how haters will never truly disappear.

The star, known for her out of the ordinary sound and look, has a brand new album out coming this November, called “Cannibal” – it will be available in 2 different formats / packages, as we also reported a while back.

Speaking of the name she chose for the new studio material, Ke$ha says it’s all about her evolution as an artist: first she was “Animal” (the title of her first album), but now she’s “cannibalizing” herself in order to grow as an artist.

Speaking of which, one thing critics held against her since she broke in the spotlight is the fact that she reportedly can’t sing, in the basic sense of the word.

Just because she chooses to use her voice to create a more peculiar sound doesn’t mean she couldn’t carry a tune if she wanted to, Ke$ha explains in the interview.

“I think that it might because it obviously has an electronic element to it. I know that I can sing. That’s the reason I started playing music when I was twelve years old,” she says.

“So if people haven’t seen that yet, then hopefully they will in this repackage. There are definitely two songs on here that showcase that,” the singer explains of “Cannibal.”

However, Ke$ha knows some will not be rushing to buy her music and thus see (or rather, hear) for themselves that she can sing. Haters will always be haters, she says.

But that doesn’t mean their words don’t hurt.

“I have haters. I have so many haters. People assume because you’re in the public eye that we don’t notice or we don’t care about it, but I’ve definitely experienced my fair share of hate,” she says.
