14 DAY TRIAL // Some years after her marriage with Russell Brand came to an end, Katy Perry decided to open up about this dark period of her life.
Speaking with Vogue, the singer said that she learned that Russell wanted a divorce from a text message he was “courteous” enough to send her on December 31, 2011.
Katy Perry also explained that, though they were very much in love at the time when they got married, they did not get to spend all that much time together because she was always on the road.
It's likely that this was one of the reasons why their marriage ended in failure, the singer reportedly admitted.
In her own words, “I have to claim my own responsibility in things. I do admit that I was on the road. I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but when they get that equal they're like, ‘I can't handle it.’”
Katy Perry hasn't spoken to Russell Brand since she divorced him. Meanwhile, she has been hooking up and breaking up with John Mayer.
The two first started dating in August, and are yet to figure out whether they are meant for each other or they should each go their separate ways.
Presently, the two are rumored to be a couple, but there is no telling on what the future will bring.
