Katy Perry has the kind of body that men dream of and women want to have – or so they say. However, she wasn’t always happy about her curvy figure, she reveals in the March 2011 issue of Elle magazine.

The pop star is Elle’s cover girl, flaunting her well known curvy body in very colorful, trademark outfits. In the interview, Perry admits there was a time when she actually wanted to be more like Kate Moss.

Katy is yet another example of the “grass is always greener on the other side,” if you will. She’s changed a lot since those days, though, having learned to embrace her curves and love her body as it is.

“I was shaped like a square at one time. I was! I’m generally around 130 pounds, which is totally fine for me. But when I was a kid, I was the same height and weighed more like 145,” Katy reveals for Elle.

Understandably, the worst part of her figure back then was that she also had a very ample chest. So she literally took measures to make it appear smaller than it was.

“And I had enormous [breasts] that I didn’t know what to do with, so I wore minimizers, which were not cute. Those thick-[expletive] straps!” she says.

“I got made fun of for the over-the-shoulder boulder holder, and all I wanted was to look like Kate Moss. Little did I know that these things would come in handy someday,” Katy adds, joking about the importance placed on her cleavage.

In the same interview, Perry also speaks of married life and how she and Russell Brand make it work despite having very hectic schedules, life before fame and, of course, how she sees herself in 10 years from now.

Katy Perry’s career goal: to be like Cyndi Lauper someday. Nevertheless, she will not “die on stage,” she says, because she also wants to start a family.
