Katy Perry and Russell Brand have been married for a year, even though many said they wouldn't last six months. Speaking with Ellen DeGeneres on one of her recent shows, the singer admitted she wants a large brood.

Still, the time is not right now just now, Katy told the talk show host, as the video below will confirm.

For the time being, Katy and Russell are working hard on making their marriage work under present circumstances, when they're spending so little time together.

What with his work commitments and her touring, Russell and Katy spend a lot of time apart, but never more than 2 weeks in a row, the singer told Ellen.

With all this, she dreams of the day when they will start a family together, even though that's not the plan at the moment.

“Yeah, I would love to have children. I think that's one of the reasons you get married, especially to the person that you marry. You think: 'That person is going to be a good partner, a good parent',” Katy told Ellen.

Asked whether she'd want to have just one or more children, Perry admitted that she'd love to have a large family, on the condition that giving birth didn't hurt too much.

“If it doesn't hurt the first time I'll keep popping them out,” she joked.

Fans must know that Katy and Russell took the world by surprise when they god married a little over a year ago, after a brief courtship and even shorter engagement.

At the time, they were considered one of the oddest couples in showbiz and, for some, they remain so to this day.

This would explain why they're constantly plagued by rumors of a breakup, with many tabloid reports saying distance, contrasting personalities and Brand's former womanizing ways would eventually take a toll on the relationship.

So far, no signs of such a toll. Check out the video below to see Katy gush about her man and how she wants a large brood some day.
