14 DAY TRIAL // Katy Perry has made a tradition out of releasing very colorful and energetic lyric videos that often look good enough to pose as the real deal, except her real videos carry even more production value, often passing for short movies.
For her latest single, “This Is How We Do,” Katy hasn't lowered her standards and her creative team has come up with a very colorful 3-minute clip that seems to be heavily inspired by themes from the 80s and 90s. Even the graphics look like they were taken straight out of a retro video game.
Katy provided a link to the video on her Twitter profile yesterday. The link was accompanied by a very energetic call from the singer herself, “YO! Impress all ur homies & stay straight stuntin by learning deez lyrics to keep ur party trill (sic).”
“This is How We Do” is the fifth single off her newest album, “Prism,” which she's currently promoting with a massive worldwide tour. At the moment, Perry is on the North American leg of her tour.
The album was an instant hit, debuting at number 1 on the Billboard Top 200 when it first came out last October. Since then, Katy has registered huge success with songs such as “Uncondintionally,” “Roar,” and “Dark Horse.”
