It's always nice to see successful artists give something back to society, since most of today's performers have a huge influence over the media and the younger generations. Katy Perry has got the right idea as she has joined with other several acts to reward activists with free concert tickets.

The “Dark Horse” singer has signed up to participate in the UK launch of Global Citizen Tickets scheme along with other artists which include Arcade Fire, Kings of Leon, John Newman, Chvrches, The National, Neil Young, Pearl Jam and The Specials, according to Contactmusic.

For those of you living in the UK who want to join in this effort, Global Citizen is an initiative that asks participants to help increase the UK's aid overseas by emailing Chancellor George Osbourne ahead of the Budget being voted.

There is also an initiative in the US which also boasts some famous acts such as Beyonce, Foo Fighters and The Black Keys, all of whom have donated some of their tickets to fans willing to help in the effort.

For Perry, who has recently been named a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, it looks like the latest effort in her ongoing charity campaign. Back in December, the 29-year-old pop singer was named a Goodwill Ambassador, thanks to some work she'd done back in April of last year with poverty-stricken youth in Madagascar.

She is expected to make further trips this year in location such as Haiti, Peru and the Philippines to help bring attention to underprivileged children who are suffering from abuse or abandonment. Perry has stated this she hopes her humanitarian efforts are going to help her feel more grounded.

These days, Katy Perry is also sparking rumors about a second breakup from singer John Mayer which has yet to be confirmed. It comes to quell speculation that the couple were close to getting married, after Katy was spotted with diamond rings on her wedding finger and insiders reporting that the two had plans for a secret wedding in Hawaii this year.

Currently, most of the gossip talks of Perry catching on to Mayer's incessant infidelities, although nothing has been proven yet. However, there might some truth to these talks as the two haven't been spotted out together since Valentine's Day.

Katy is currently preparing to kick off her “Prismatic World Tour,” which is billed to start on May 7, 2014 in Belfast, Ireland. After that, the concert will be playing throughout Britain, before moving to the United States in June, where the first concert will take place in Raleigh, on June 22.
