14 DAY TRIAL // Britney Spears may not be moving mountains with her residency show in Las Vegas in terms of attendance or popularity, but she did set a trend apparently. More and more singers are now looking for a solid contract, and the latest on that list is Katy Perry.
While Katy isn't having trouble booking a gig, sources say that the “Roar” singer has already signed a mini-residency in Las Vegas with Planet Hollywood.
If everything goes according to plan, she'll be playing at the Axis theater, which, incidentally, is the same place where Britney is entertaining.
Rumor has it that Katy did a secret performance on Tuesday night for the execs at Planet Hollywood and they agreed to give her a show. It seems the big chain is also keeping its options open as an insider explains they that are looking at other possible artists in the meantime.
The bad news is that it will take up to three months to find out if Planet Hollywood is really preparing to bring in some other music heavyweights, but one thing is for sure: Britney has to work even harder to keep the venue packed in the coming months.
