14 DAY TRIAL // Late last week, rumor emerged that singer Katy Perry, now in a serious relationship with British comedian Russell Brand, went out on a date with “Twilight” heartthrob Robert Pattinson. Not only that, but the two even spent the night together, reports said at the time, a claim Perry is now refuting, saying on her Twitter she just doesn’t “do” vampires.
Since everything that Robert does is bound to make headlines, it’s no wonder photos of him and Katy immediately caught the media attention, especially since few actually knew that they knew each other, let alone be friends. For many, the logical explanation was that they were dating in secret, which also meant that the singer kept the relationship with Brand only as a front for her romance with the actor.
More than a handful of US tabloids and glossy magazines jumped on the story, with sources well in the know even stating on the record that Perry and Pattinson were seen leaving together the night of the date and booking a hotel room minutes later. Terribly annoyed, Katy writes on Twitter: “Read a bunch of yesterdays-news-bullocks. Ppl should know by now that I don’t do vampires, but I do, DO @rustyrockets [Russell Brand]. Don’t get it TWISTED!”
We were also telling you the other week, before the rumor that Perry was dating Pattinson behind Brand’s back, that the British star was snapped shopping for what looked like an engagement ring. This, together with the fact that he had said before that he felt Katy was “the one,” prompted speculation that he was thinking of popping the big question over the Christmas holiday.

I caught the one-time zillion-girls-a-month comic hunting for the perfect band at posh London jewelers Cartier on Friday. And take note, lads.
