14 DAY TRIAL // Gentlemen, Katy Perry is back on the market after she separated from music producer Diplo with whom she had been going out since the Coachella Music Festival last month. In Touch is reporting that the singer and the 35-year-old DJ and music producer have called it quits after their brief romance.
“Diplo broke up with her because she does not want to be in a serious relationship. She's doing OK and not too sad about it. They wanted different things,” a friend of Katy's told the magazine. “She freaked out when he wanted to introduce her to his parents. She doesn’t want to get married again — at least not anytime soon.”
It sounds like Katy Kat might have been left with a commitment problem after her failed marriage to Russell Brand and her on-again-off-again relationship with John Mayer.
“She wants to date and he wanted something much more serious. It was too much, too soon,” the friend continued, offering some insight into Katy's current love life.
It's probably for the best though, since both musicians are involved in separate projects and very busy, meaning that a romance would have been impossible under the circumstances. Katy is still on her Prismatic World Tour and Diplo has been confirmed to be stuck in the studio working on Madonna's next album, among many other projects.
Of course, the two have not made their relationship official. In fact, Katy has been avoiding her love life as a topic in interviews ever since she confessed she split up from John Mayer. We still don't know what happened between them, but it's widely speculated that his infidelities were the cause of the split.
Mayer and Perry seemed pretty close to a wedding, but it turned out that Mayer had other plans which didn't include Perry in the long run. The press has been eager to pair her up with every famous man she comes into contact with since the split.
Among one of the more famous that has generated quite a buzz was BFF Robert Pattinson, which she has described on many occasions are being close to her as a brother. They were seen together at the Coachella Music Festival and since Pattinson was also on the rebound, it was speculated that they may have formed a couple.
However, it was Diplo that swooped in and seduced Katy, only to breakup with her a few weeks later.
