14 DAY TRIAL // This year, Lionsgate is bidding adieu to the successful “Hunger Games” franchise, as the final installment, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2,” opens in theaters on November 20. A first trailer for it has been released, and as usual, you can see it in full and in HD below.
Katniss Everdeen is finally going to war against President Snow and the Capitol, in a bid to help the people of Panem get their freedom. From the looks of this first trailer, it won’t be an easy journey, requiring several sacrifices and loss of human life.
Also, the Hunger Games are far from over, even if the Capitol is about to be brought down, because President Snow has just made things more… interesting.
Readers of Suzanne Collins’ original novels, on which the film franchise is based, know how Katniss’ mission will end. They will probably also feel relief to receive closure after the teasing, somewhat disappointing Part 1 of “Mockingjay,” after the studio decided to split the final book into 2 movies.
Directed by Francis Lawrence, “Mockingjay Part 2” stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, the late Sir Philip Seymour Hoffman, Julianne Moore, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Gwendoline Christie, Natalie Dormer, Stanley Tucci, Sam Clafin and Donald Sutherland.
