Treyc Cohen’s father accuses Cheryl Cole of “cheating” on X Factor, wants proper investigation
Treyc Cohen’s father accuses Cheryl Cole of “cheating” on X Factor, wants proper investigation

During the last X Factor live show, Cheryl Cole refused to choose one girl between Katie Waissel and Treyc Cohen to send home, with Treyc being voted off even though Katie had some problems with the lyrics.

Treyc’s father is none too happy about it, telling the British media Katie should have been the one to go home – which would have probably happened if Cheryl had voted, the Daily Mail writes.

According to Mr. Cohen, the show is a “fix” and irrefutable proof of that is the fact that X Factor bosses allowed Cheryl to abstain from voting. He also wants a proper investigation into the situation.

“The father of Treyc Cohen has angrily blasted X Factor bosses for allowing his daughter to leave the competition, branding it ‘a fix’,” the Mail writes.

“Fitzgerald Cohen, 68, has called for an investigation into why her mentor Cheryl Cole was allowed to refuse to vote, meaning Katie Waissel remained in the competition after giving a shaky performance in the sing-off,” the same publication says.

As we also informed you yesterday, after the sing-off, the judges were asked to choose one girl to send home. All did so except Cheryl, who said she refused to vote because both were very talented and deserved to be on the show.

Viewers at home were furious with her and the producers for allowing her to do so, especially since Katie had serious problems with her song – namely, she forgot the words, sat down on the floor and just sang the same line over and over again until the music was over.

As Mr. Cohen also sees it, this alone should have been enough to make Cheryl vote for Treyc to stay on. Since she refused to do so, she’s responsible for her leaving.

“It’s a fix. It’s as simple as that. I have no idea why Treyc is out. She was easily the best singer and should not have lost to Katie,” Mr. Cohen says.

“Lots of things happen behind the scenes so certain contestants are kept in. The show is not about singing, it’s a freak show now,” the singer’s father adds.

“[Cheryl] knew she was already one down after Simon voted for Katie, but refused to balance the score. There should be an investigation into why Cheryl was allowed to refuse to vote,” Mr. Cohen says.

He’s not the only one to ask for an investigation: following this weekend’s show, countless viewers took to social networks to call on watchdog Ofcom to look into the matter.
