History Channel’s much debated miniseries “The Kennedys” has found a new home after being flung from network to network in search of a buyer. It will premiere on April 3 on ReelzChannel, People magazine reports.

As we also noted a short while ago, “The Kennedys” caused a lot of drama even when still in early production stages.

However, the biggest blow came when History Channel refused to air it shortly after completion, even though, until then, it stood by the $30 million project.

Since then, the miniseries has been shopped around to various networks, but most of them turned it down, presumably because of pressure coming from real-life Kennedys, if one is to believe the rumors.

Now, ReelzChannel has picked it up and will air it starting April 3.

“We don’t enjoy controversy or want to pick a fight, but the history is the history," network CEO Stan E. Hubbard says in a statement for People magazine, about the project coming to the network.

“When you watch this, there are incredible successes and unbelievable tragedies. The family stays together and they're loyal to each other and to the country throughout the highest highs and the lowest lows,” Hubbard adds.

Purchasing the rights for “The Kennedys” was a tribute to the A-list cast who have done their best to make of the docu-series such an impressive project, the CEO goes on to say.

“The cast put their heart and soul into this, and with great care to accuracy of circumstances and visuals,” adds Hubbard.

“We’re so thrilled and proud of being able to step up and help this story be told that they so carefully created,” he concludes by saying.

Aside from Katie Holmes (who has received her fair share of bad media under claims that she somehow “killed” the project), “The Kennedys” also stars Greg Kinnear, Tom Wilkinson and Barry Pepper.

On March 6, the docu-series also starts airing in Canada.
