14 DAY TRIAL // Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise over half a year ago, but she’s ready to start dating again, a new report says. However, she’s being very cautious about it.
Since she blindsided Tom with the divorce papers, Katie has been focusing mostly on her daughter Suri, with whom she’s pictured out and about almost on a daily basis.
She’s also done some work, starring in a Broadway play and overseeing her fashion line.
The time has come for her to date again, sources close to the star say for Radar Online.
“Katie Holmes is feeling ready to cautiously dip her toe back into the dating pool again after seven months of living the single life, but she’s vowing to take things slowly as she continues to recover from the emotional scars left by the end of her five year marriage to Tom Cruise,” the celebrity publication writes.
“The Dawson’s Creek actress is worried about entering into a serious relationship with a new man, because she fears it would spell the end to her newly discovered freedom,” adds the same media outlet.
Considering the kind of media attention Katie got for her romance and then her marriage to Tom, not to mention the media frenzy once word of the divorce got out, if she’s really ready to date again, no one can blame her for wanting to keep it as low profile as possible.
Of course, during these months she’s been single, she did not escape occasional speculation about her love life, with reports saying at one point she and her “Dead Accounts” co-star might be more than just co-stars and good friends.
Tom, on the other hand, has been burying himself in work, shooting movies back to back and then doing promo work for those that came out.
Officially, both are still single.
