14 DAY TRIAL // During the VH1 Divas Salute the Troops, comedienne Kathy Griffin took a swing at seemingly the easiest target for anyone looking to make headlines, Bristol Palin, saying she’s the only contestant ever to gain weight on DWTS.
As fans must know, Bristol made it all the way through to the Dancing With the Stars finals, where she secured for herself and her partner the third spot. This, apparently, makes of her a very easy target.
After Margaret Cho picked on Bristol, it’s now Kathy Griffin turn, with the latter saying that she’d never imagine anyone could actually become heavier while training for DWTS.
“She’s the only contestant in the history of the show to actually gain weight,” Kathy said of Bristol, as the troops in the audience started booing. Minutes before, Kathy was in a two-piece swimsuit, flaunting her thin body.
“No, come on, come on. She gained like 30 pounds a week, I swear to God, it was fantastic. She’s like the white Precious,” the comedienne went on to say, as the Huffington Post informs.
She then actually urged her audience to continue to boo her because she liked it, and because that would still not change anything about her determination to say whatever it was on her mind.
As per the same publication, a rep for Bristol has already responded to not-so-delicate jab, saying that all there needs to be said can be understood from the crowd’s reaction to the unsavory joke.
“The audience’s reaction to this ‘comedian’ spoke volumes, and the decent people I know would probably have booed her, too. I hope people didn’t have to pay money to hear her negativity and criticisms,” a rep says for Bristol.
This is by far a less personal response than the one Bristol gave to Margaret Cho the other day, on her Facebook page, which ended with a less than appropriate joke and an invitation to babysit Tripp, as we also informed you at the time.
