14 DAY TRIAL // “Titanic” actress Kate Winslet has just announced the birth of a baby boy with husband Ned Rocknroll. This is Kate's third child but her first with Ned, and he saw the light of day on Saturday in England.
A representative for the actress confirms for E! News that the boy weighed 9lbs (4.08kg) and that both he and the mother are doing fine. The 38-year-old actress gave birth in a hospital in Sussex and she is said to be “thrilled to bits” along with her husband over “Baby Boy Winslet.”
“Baby Boy Winslet” will be joining his sister Mia, 13, and his brother Joe, 9, from Kate's previous marriages into the Winslet-Rocknroll household. The couple have been married since December of last year, after they had previously met while holidaying at his uncle Richard Branson's privately-owned Necker Island.
Despite his very musical name, Ned Rocknroll is said to be working within the Virgin empire, on the space-travel branch. His unusual name, which he adopted later in life, is now the subject of debate of whether it will be given to his newborn son.
Kate Winslet has already expressed reluctance to adopt her hubby's name over her own, which she says she thinks “it's very flashy.” Even flashier than Rocknroll.
Kate Winslet has received some criticism in the past over having 3 children with 3 different men, earning her the title of “3X3” but she was quick to dismiss it, assuring everyone that she's first a full time mom and an actress second.
She says that her kids have remained in her custody; “That’s never happened. My kids don’t go back and forth; none of this 50/50 time with the mums and dads – my children live with me; that is it.”
The actress has also been busy promoting her latest film, aptly named “Labor Day,” which is due to be released in theaters on December 27.
