A lover of kohl pencil and non-sticky lipstick, Kate dishes makeup tips

She’s got one of the more recognizable faces in the industry, having landed countless endorsement deals with beauty giants throughout the years. When it comes to applying her own makeup, Kate Moss likes to keep it messy – and she’s very proud of that.

Having been the face of Rimmel London for almost a decade, Kate is now getting ready for the launch of her own lipstick line with the same company.

While promoting said line in an interview cited by the Belfast Telegraph, the model makes a series of rather shocking statements, including how she doesn’t like to play by the rules. Quite the contrary.

Lipstick, for instance, she just piles on, without even bothering to use a liner beforehand.

“Make-up artists do that, but I wouldn’t do it on myself. I don’t use a lip liner or a lip brush: I just shove it on,” she says with a laugh.

Her one condition about lippy is that it’s not sticky because she hates that.

“I’ve got a thing about sticky – it can’t be sticky [on my lips]. From doing so many shoots when they get the wind machine out and my hair sticks to me. I get the fear,” she explains.

In the same interview, Kate says she can “feel” when she needs to apply more blusher and that she can basically apply her own makeup without looking in the mirror once.

“I can feel when I need it. I use a powder and then a cream blush over the top to get a bit of a glow,” she says.

She does that without looking in the mirror; the same applies to eye makeup, which she does almost effortlessly with a kohl pencil, being almost an enemy of the classic liquid eyeliner, which can ruin a look if you don’t draw the line straight from the first try.

Moss also says she has the habit of buying more items of the same product that she likes, just in case makers discontinue it.

“I tend to keep [old make-up], it’s terrible. I like one thing, then it goes out of production, so I have to phone up the artist and beg for more. They discontinue the best products, it’s really annoying. I’ve got a lot stockpiled,” she says.
