The future for “ Jon & Kate Plus 8” might look a bit uncertain on TV right now, but that’s not to say Kate Gosselin will give up the spotlight without a decent fight, especially since, as of late, her popularity has gone up. In fact, Mrs. Gosselin is said to have enjoyed her two-day co-host duty on The View that she’s busily working to secure her own talk show, as E! Online has learned.

Inside sources tell E! that Kate is looking to do something different from The View, yet in the same vein, in the sense that it will also be a morning show. However, given that she already has made a name for herself as a mother of eight on TLC’s show “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” she’s looking to capitalize on it by doing a mom-centered show, where two or more hosts would address problems and discuss issues mothers are confronted with on a daily basis.

“If you miss Kate Gosselin’s run on The View this week, not to worry. She’s apparently gunning for her own ladies-only chatfest. And I hear Gosselin may already be cooking something up with a well-seasoned television veteran. Sources tell me that Telepictures – the media heavyweight behind Ellen DeGeneres’ and Tyra Banks’ hit shows – is looking to develop a View-like morning show with Gosselin and television cooking queen Paula Deen.” E! writes, citing well-placed sources.

Telepictures would not confirm the report, saying it’s not the company’s policy to discuss projects that are in development and have not yet been made official. As E! also points out, Deen signed a deal with Telepictures for her own syndicated show a while back, but the project never really took off. If she is to be part of Kate’s upcoming, rumored show, though, she would certainly fit the bill, since she too is a mother of two and, more importantly, also knows a thing or two about drawing audiences, since she already has three shows under her belt.

“They’re looking around and casting for other women to be on the show with them. But they want all the women to be moms.” one source says for E!. If true, this would come to confirm that Kate Gosselin might have actually been thinking about this for long, as she was saying earlier that television lacked mom-centered shows, even adding that that would be a “very comfortable thing for me.”
