Kate Gosselin’s most recent endeavor, a cookbook called “Love Is in the Mix,” came out at the end of September but it’s getting such negative (and absolutely hilarious) reviews that it’s all the buzz online right now.

In all fairness, reviews for “Kate Gosselin’s Love Is in the Mix” have been mixed, if you’ll excuse our pun: as of the time of writing, it has 43 5-star reviews, and 37 reviews less than positive. For the sake of argument, of those 43, many have nothing to do with the quality of the recipes included but are messages of support for Kate.

As for the negative reviews, they’re all the rage right now, with some of them being so humorously worded that they’re probably a finer read than the book itself.

Speaking of which, most reviewers agree that Kate has no business putting out a cookbook because she clearly has not the skills or the inclination to be a cook. If we’re to believe what some buyers say, neither is she inclined to provide healthy meals for her 8 children, opting instead to replace them with high-sodium, high-fat foods found in cans, which she mixes and matches to create the impression of a home-cooked dish.

Others object to how vague the recipes are because, apparently, Kate can’t decide whether to use “2 or 3” cloves of garlic, or “2 or 3” cups of rice and, in both cases, one unit of measurement makes all the difference.

Other buyers find it strange that Kate would include so many photos of herself with the kids (many of them old, to boot) but not better quality pics of the dishes she’s trying to recommend.

On the topic of food, most users agree that Kate isn’t really selling anything original, because all the recipes included can be easily found online and you don’t even have to pay more for them. So yes, her book is just a “sordid attempt at staying relevant.”

Mr. Negative sums it up best: “If you can open a can, and dump the contents, you can make nearly any recipe in this book. It essentially recreates the Golden Corral menu board for those of us who want to fart together similar slop in the comfort of our own homes. 5 stars for entertainment, and one star for content.”

“If they had shown pictures of Kate preparing everything in different bikinis and workout clothes, and left those poor kids out of this mess all together, this would have been a 3-star book. In all honesty, and all joking aside, someone needs to tell Kate Gosselin to stop. Seriously. She needs to just stop,” the reviewer says.
