14 DAY TRIAL // Earlier reports suggested that reality mom Kate Gosselin had blown thousands of dollars on Botox alone. This and many other expenses she’s made to sustain her lavish lifestyle have brought her on the verge of bankruptcy.
It’s easy to imagine that Mrs. Gosselin has made a lot of money from her career in television: for her appearance on last season of Dancing With the Stars, for instance, she’s believed to have pocketed close to $500,000.
Then, she had money coming in from her TLC reality show “Jon and Kate Plus 8” (now minus the “Jon”), various endorsement deals, books, appearances and whatnot. On the downside, these are harder and harder to come by today.
At the same time, Mrs. Gosselin continues to spend money “like it’s going out of fashion,” which has brought her in severe financial trouble, PopEater reports, citing sources close to the star.
“Kate lives like she is a movie star. She flies first class and stays at the most expensive hotels and spends money on herself like it’s going out of fashion. Remember, this is a woman who once spent $7,000 on a haircut!” a friend dishes for the aforementioned e-zine.
Granted, until now, Kate could very well afford to live like this because – and it must be common knowledge by now – she was very much in demand.
For a while there, Kate Gosselin was everywhere and not a single day went by without her name making headlines, either with reports as this one or via exclusive interviews, for which it’s safe to assume she was getting paid.
Unfortunately, times are a-changing, and Kate is now discovering she no longer sees the same offers coming in – but she continues to spend at the same rate.
“Kate was hoping to get paid to endorse a bunch of products. She thought she would earn millions by advertising baby carriages, food and cloths, but no one wanted her,” another source says, also for PopEater.
“The poor thing even thought she would get a deal with Cover Girl after being on Dancing With The Stars, instead they went with Beyonce,” the insider explains.
Bills are piling up and she has 8 children to provide for, so Kate is now thinking about getting a “real job,” the spy adds.
