14 DAY TRIAL // One of the most well-known faces from the television realm, Kate Gosselin, will put in a special appearance during the opening segment of this year’s Emmy Awards.
Though she’s not even nominated, the mother of 8 has been invited to take part in an opening sketch by Jimmy Fallon, who also acts as host for the event.
The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on August 29 and will air live on NBC – and they will also include an appearance from Mrs. Gosselin, Ace Showbiz informs.
Kate, who is currently continuing work on her TLC show “Kate Plus 8,” while also preparing for the release of her own show with the same network, has been deemed the perfect person to break the ice.
Details of what her cameo will consist have not yet been made public but, knowing Fallon and Kate’s experience on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, a dance number is not entirely out of the question.
What Fallon did say is that the sketch will see Kate interact with various celebrities, which means it could also be made like a mock red carpet interview.
The idea, Fallon has been telling the media, is to have Kate exchange a few words with the biggest stars on TV right now, which would allow him to “kill it right out of the gate.”
“It’ll have the spirit of the late-night show. I’ll do jokes and impressions, and we’ll keep it very high-energy and positive and keep it moving, ‘cause it’s a great event,” Fallon says of the collaboration with Kate.
Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t offer more details because that would mean spoiling the surprise for those who’ll be tuning in to see the show at the end of this month.
“I don’t want to spoil anything. But I think this is an awesome year for me to host, because TV has been fantastic this season,” Fallon explains.
Another appearance fans can expect from Kate is on Sarah Palin’s upcoming reality series, which will show her going camping with the former politician’s family – and having a breakdown in the great outdoors, word has it.
