Kate Gosselin had a long, very successful run with TLC and her “Kate Plus 8” reality series, which initially started as “Jon & Kate Plus 8” and also featured her husband. Since it was canceled, she’s been struggling to convince networks they should do a dating series with her, it has emerged.

Fresh off reports that she’s depressed and bored without a job, comes the rumor that Kate is struggling to drum up interest in her life again.

This time, though, she’s not using her 8 adorable children for it, but her love life, the latest print issue of Star magazine writes (story via here).

“[Kate has] found it very difficult to get over the fact her show was canceled and her fame will soon fizzle out,” an unnamed source says of the one once dubbed the original Octomom.

Because she doesn’t want her 15 minutes to end, Kate is working overtime right now, trying to get networks interested in an idea for a new show she has.

“She is hoping for another show. She wants it to deal with dating,” the spy goes on to say.

This would both bring her back on TV and help her find Mr. Right, so, in Kate’s mind, she can’t possibly lose if she gets another show.

“[Kate] has set her sights on finding a new man. And she’s persistently pitching ideas for a show about her romantic life to networks ‘just to get back on television,’ the source explains,” Star writes.

Another reason why Mrs. Gosselin may be so eager to get back in the spotlight as soon as possible (that is, before people forget about her) is that she hates the idea of getting a “normal,” 9-to-5 job.

Even worse, The National Enquirer says, Kate is terrified she may end up living on welfare and food stamps, just like Octomom Nadya Suleman, who is mother to 14 children and doesn’t have a job.
