14 DAY TRIAL // As far as the world knows – bar those rumors that she was dating her married bodyguard – Kate Gosselin, the “original OctoMom,” mother of 8 and one of TLC’s biggest reality stars, has been single since her divorce from Jon Gosselin in 2009.
That’s a long time to go without a man and without some help around the house, especially with her 8 kids and everything that needs to get done daily, Kate admits. She’s “definitely lonely” and looking forward to start dating again, she adds in her new interview with Access Hollywood.
New show, more promo appearances
The new series of Kate Plus 8 started airing on TLC last night, with an episode that included a lot of packing, more acting out on part of the twins, more of Kate’s disciplinary ways, and cooking of lobsters.
The interview below, right above the teaser for the show, was shot to promote this new series, but also Kate’s appearance on The Apprentice. If you were happy for her when you learned that she was dating millionaire Jeff Prescott, sorry to burst your bubble, but she’s still single.
Kate comes across as refreshingly candid in this interview: despite what the tabloids would have us believe, she’s not leading a celebrity life, she’s just a single mother of 8 kids and has so much stuff on her plate every day that she can’t even dream of dating for many years to come.
In fact, she says, if it weren’t for her show and having to promote it, she would probably be at home, in sweats, unshowered, making dinner for the kids.
But she’d love to start dating someone, if only she had the time to actually step out of the house. She’d love someone to share her life with and who would help her out, but she can’t imagine who this guy who’d want to take on such responsibility would be.
The kids want her dating, too
The kids too have started telling her that she should consider dating, if only so they could have “someone else to look up to.” They’re even suggesting that she go online to find her Mr. Perfect, but she says the only things she should shop online for are material things, not boyfriends and potential husbands.
Kate is crystal clear: she’s not dating anyone right now. If she were, if there was someone in her life that was worthy of our interest, she’d be the first to tell us.
