14 DAY TRIAL // Kate Gosselin has lived many years in the public eye but she’s yet to step out with a new man on her arm, after the bitter split from ex-husband Jon Gosselin in 2009. She never said no to a new romance, but as per her own admission, the man who would take her with all her “baggage” would have to be Superman.
She has found her Superman in the person of millionaire Jeff Prescott, Us Weekly confirms. The rumor has actually been making the rounds online for a few days now, but until this moment it was largely just that: a rumor.
Looking for Superman
Kate and Jon Gosselin became famous thanks to TLC’s reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, which became Kate Plus 8 after the divorce and was then canceled altogether, when viewers started losing interest in it.
The “8” in the name stands for how many children Jon and Kate have, and for the reason she couldn’t move on with her life right after the divorce. Jon, on the other hand, had no trouble dating again, because he didn’t have physical custody of the children.
In 2011, Kate was saying in an interview that she’d love to find a man to share her life with, but her quest was proving very difficult because of the kids: first of all because she didn’t have time to actually date because of them, and secondly because no man wanted this kind of… complication.
“They like each other, he’s a really good guy”
Prescott seems to want it: he and Kate have known each other for one year and have only recently started dating, insiders familiar with the situation reveal for the glossy.
“They like each other,” says one tipster. “Jeff is a really, really good guy. He is very respectful of Kate and her family.”
However, Jeff is yet to meet Kate’s kids: he got them all Christmas presents but he has not been introduced to them as mother’s boyfriend just yet.
If any of them have access to the Internet, now that the cat is out of the bag, Kate will probably not have to do much explaining.
Could this be a PR stunt?
Kate Gosselin, as you may have heard, is now featured on the latest season of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice, with Donald and Ivanka Trump and Piers Morgan. She needs all the media attention she can get to prove that she can still draw an audience, especially since she’s about to make her TLC comeback really soon as well.
Indeed, on January 13, she’s getting a second chance at life as a reality star (since she has no more money left from her first foray), when Kate Plus 8 is getting a new season.
Kate Gosselin wouldn’t be the first – and she will certainly not be the last – celebrity to “leak” a romance rumor just to get people paying attention to a new project. Best case scenario, if she’s really found her Superman, he will be featured on the show as well.
