Network to air no holds barred one-on-one with the star

Viewers and fans of the soon-to-be-defunct “Jon & Kate Plus 8” reality show, as well as all those who’ve become recently fascinated with the drama of Jon and Kate Gosselin, will have a rare, one-time opportunity this Monday of getting all the answers straight from the mother of eight. TLC will air a one-hour special with Kate, which will also include questions from the viewers, as Radar Online has learned.

The decision seems to have stemmed from the fact that, first off, the reality show is nearing the end (the last episode will air in mid-November) and there are many questions left unanswered about it. Secondly, the special will also give Kate a platform to present her side of the story and this way, hopefully, put an end to the many rumors currently making the rounds in the media.

“Monday night you, the viewer, get the chance to ask Kate Gosselin whatever you want. TLC will be airing a no holds barred one-hour special with Kate talking about her life and answering questions about her family. They are also asking viewers to submit their favorite moments from the show.” Radar writes after verifying the rumor with a TLC insider who is in a position in which he can confirm it as accurate.

Of course, saying that this special has no ultimate purpose in terms of milking the Gosselin story for a little longer would be utter nonsense at this point. As insiders also reveal to Radar, the couple is no longer shooting for the series and hasn’t done so ever since Jon blocked television cameras from the life of his and Kate’s children. At this point in time, the network is simply trying to squeeze more episodes of leftover footage, which means it simply has to accept the harsh reality that this will all end one given day. Thus, the idea of doing the Kate special while the iron is still hot and their story still sells.

“As Radar Online exclusively reported Jon & Kate Plus 8 will officially end in mid to late November. TLC has not made an announcement but Radar Online has confirmed with sources outside the network that there is just enough unused new footage to take them through about another month. ‘They will eek out what they can in terms of more shows,’ a source close to the situation told Radar Online. ‘Obviously they are not shooting anymore so they are taking what they have and seeing how many more episodes they can get out of it.’” Radar writes.
