Another reality series on TLC bites the dust. Without as much as a warning, the network has pulled the plug on “LA Ink” with Kat Von D, announcing that the current season will also be its last.

In a statement released to various media outlets, TLC states that, while it’s been amazing run, “LA Ink” must come to an end. Therefore, it has decided to cancel it.

“TLC has decided that the current season of LA Ink will be its last. The network is proud of what the series has accomplished in its four seasons, following Kat Von D’s journey as an artist from Miami to Los Angeles. The series finale will air September 15th at 10 pm,” reads the statement.

However, the main star of the show, Kat herself, would beg to differ on that whole “cancelation” thing. On her Twitter, she makes it clear that it was her decision to end the show.

As she puts it, she wasn’t happy with the way network bosses wanted to edit the footage to make the most of her breakup from Jesse James, so she simply turned her back on them and left.

“I love how me deciding to not continue doing LA Ink, turns into being ‘cancelled.’ Thanks @TLC. Regardless of everything I remain grateful,” Kat writes on her official Twitter page.

However, she feels she owes her fans a bit more explaining than this so, in a statement to People magazine, she goes into the details of what happened behind closed doors with the reality series.

To make a long story short, Kat did not want producers to twist facts in a bid to boost ratings for the show off her personal heartbreak, so she put her foot down.

“In an effort to capitalize on my recent breakup, the network has decided to focus their energy on re-editing events that didn’t happen while filming. I have no regrets and am very proud of the original footage,” she says.

“In my opinion, any attempt to compromise the honesty of that would be an insult to my fans and viewers,” Kat adds.

She also says she remains grateful to TLC for offering her the chance to be with them for so many years, but insists that she’s ready to move on to other, more interesting projects.

Oddly enough, Kat and Jesse James, author of the above-mentioned heartbreak, are now back together again.
