On the 20th of June this year, both Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus have received the Certified for Vista logo from Microsoft. This only confirms what most Kaspersky users already know: Kaspersky is one of the most powerful and reliable anti virus-application on the market today. This new recognition will only backup the words of the Kaspersky Lab CEO, Natalya Kaspersky: "We are pleased that Microsoft experts have confirmed the superior quality and stability of the new generation of Kaspersky Lab products. As the seventh versions of our home users products were developed with the characteristics and new features of Windows Vista in mind, successful completion of the Veritest testing was expected - but nonetheless great news,"

The new 7.0 versions have recently been made available for the public so that Kaspersky and Vista users will have a reason to be pleased, especially after the director of Windows Client Product Management at Microsoft Corp., Dave Wascha said that "Microsoft is pleased that Kaspersky Lab has earned the Certified for Windows Vista software logo for its Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 applications".

Passing the Veritest means that the new versions of popular anti-virus application are fully compatible with the Windows Vista operating system and its applications. Of course Kaspersky 6.0 users will automatically receive a free upgrade; the rest of those who are interested will have to pay about 60 $ for the new version's license. Seeing that Kaspersky has been certified for Vista, it is expected that the numbers of its users will dramatically increase, especially since the solution created by Microsoft for the eventual virus problems that the Windows operating system might have, namely OneCare, seems not to be effective at this point.

Furthermore, Kaspersky has recently opened a new office in Stockholm, Sweden. The goal is to expand into northern Europe because for the time being, only English language versions of Kaspersky Lab products are available in the region. "Opening an office in Northern Europe is the logical next step in the company's development," said the head of the Kaspersky Lab DACH, Andreas Lamm. "Until recently, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland remained the only European countries in which our products were not sufficiently represented - a situation that is set to change rapidly with the opening of the new office." With the opening of this new office, they say Swedish and Danish versions of Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 will be available in September and the releases of Norwegian and Finnish versions are scheduled for 2008. In conclusion, it seems once again that Kaspersky proves that it's perfectly capable of offering high quality protection against threats even on the newest operating systems available on the market today.
