Mobile phone users in India can now purchase a new Karbonn smartphone running under Google’s Android operating system, none other than the Karbonn Titanium S5, which is currently listed online with a price tag of INR 11,990 ($221 / 170 Euro) attached to it.

The handset can be seen with this price tag attached to it over at Snapdeal, and is expected to ship in 12 days to those who order it.

Packing a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a qHD (960 x 540 pixel) resolution, the new handset arrives on the market with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor packed inside, complemented by 1GB of RAM, AndroidOS reports.

The phablet also features an 8-megapixel camera on the back, along with a 2MP front camera for making video calls, and a 2000 mAh battery inside.

Furthermore, the smartphone hits shelves with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32 GB of external storage, and might feature 4GB of internal memory, although specific details on this haven’t been provided, it seems.

Karbonn also packed the new Titanium S5 with support for 3G networks in the country, as well as with Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth capabilities.

The smartphone’s hardware specifications list also includes FM Radio, Light, Proximity and G Sensor, support for two SIM cards, GPS navigation, USB port, 3.5 mm audio jack, and the like.

Made available in a Deep Blue color flavor, the new mobile phone also comes with a series of pre-loaded apps and games. Users will also be able to download and install more of these via the Google Play Store.

The handset runs under Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, and should easily prove an appealing option to all users interested in the purchase of a budget phablet, especially when compared to the Micromax A116 Canvas HD or other similar smartphones currently available for purchase in India.
