14 DAY TRIAL // We reported last week Karbonn plans to release a new mid-range Android smartphone in India, the Titanium S4. The device was already listed at Flipkart with a Rs 15,990 ($255 / €190) price tag attached to it, but no release date was available at that time.
Android enthusiasts in India waiting for this particular device to arrive in India will be pleased to know Flipkart has just kicked off sale for Karbonn Titanium S4.
The smartphone available for the same Rs 15,990 ($255 / €190) outright price listed by the online retailer last week, so there's no surprise here.
The spec sheet of the Karbonn Titanium S4 is also similar to the one confirmed by Flipkart last week, but here is a quick recap for those unfamiliar with the India OEM's mid-range smartphone.
First of all, the Titanium S4 comes with dual-SIM support, so users will be able to fit two SIM cards into this device, one will work on 3G connectivity, whereas the other one is only 2G compatible.
Furthermore, the smartphone is equipped with a powerful enough 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, possibly provided by MediaTek.
Karbonn Titanium S4's CPU is complemented by 1GB of RAM and only 4GB of internal memory. Luckily, Karbonn included a microSD card slot so users will be able to expand the phone's storage up to 32GB via memory cards.
Another strong point of the smartphone would be the 4.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.
Titanium S4 also boasts an impressive 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.
There's also a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front for video calls. Other highlights of the smartphone include: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, 3.5mm audio jack, HSDPA (21Mbps), GPS with A-GPS support and 1,800 mAh Li-Ion battery.
It is also worth mentioning Karbonn Titanium S4 ships with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, along with the full suite of Google apps and services.
