Indian handset maker (importer) Karbonn and Infibeam retailer have just announced they have teamed up to offer Android enthusiasts two new tablets with voice calling capability, Karbonn A34 and A37.

We reported last week that Indian retailer Snapdeal has started to sell Karbonn’s A37 tablet for Rs 9,490 outright, which is about $175 or €130.

Infibeam seems to be the second retailer to offer the A37 slate and among the first to sell the much cheaper Karbonn A34 tablet.

According to Infibeam, customers can now purchase the A37 tablet for Rs 9,490 ($175/€130) and the A34 for just Rs 7,290 ($135/€100). Moreover, customers can use a promo code in order to get an additional discount of Rs 440 ($8/€6).

Keep in mind that both tablets offer dual-SIM capability, but the A37 features GSM / CDMA support, while the A34 comes with GSM / GSM support.

It is also worth mentioning that both tablets have 7-inch capacitive touchscreen displays with support for 800 x 480 pixels resolution and 2-megapixel rear-facing cameras.

However, Karbonn A37 ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, whereas the A34 is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform.

Karbonn A37 is equipped with a 1GHz dual-core processor, while the A34 sports a less-powerful 1GHz single-core CPU.

Each Karbonn tablet packs 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, but users can further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

When it comes to connectivity, both tablets come with Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and GPS support, but only the A37 features 3G capability, as the A34 is limited to EDGE. Other connectivity features include Bluetooth, USB.

Last but not least, Karbonn A34 and A37 tablets are powered by 3000 mAh Li-Ion batteries, which have yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
