A mic stand for the becoming artist in you. Or just for fun.

Two popular ideas have been recently merged by Memorex: karaoke and iPods. The new Memorex karaoke "machine," named SingStand brings a very interesting approach to this rather fun preoccupation: it comes in the shape of an actual microphone stand instead of the old bulky karaoke devices of yore, possibly helping the singers become more familiar with the artistic act and by all means, looking more professional than humming in front of a huge gadget that looks like your washing machine.

[admark=1]One of the fun things about the Memorex SingStand is the fact that it looks like a real (though a bit too fancy) microphone stand: you can lean against or with it and improve your scenic presence, even though I guess that throwing it in the air in a Van Halen or Guns'n'Roses manner is not exactly something the SingStand was made for.

This karaoke gadget boasts a very stylish docking station that can accommodate iPods and pretty much any other portable media player; docked or used with the classic 3.5mm stereo jack, these players will deliver your fav tracks to the amplifier stored at the base of the stand.

The Memorex SingStand boasts stereo sound and is equipped with dual 4W speakers which will spread your amazing vocal performance in the nearby area. The base also contains controls for the echo effect, which you can add according to your musical vision; the "Auto Voice Control" function processes the tracks you play and dims the vocals from the songs to lower levels so that your voice can break through and shine.

The device sports an additional input for a third-party keyboard, in case you want to jam with friends, and if you feel like dragging yet another friend in this funny game – no problem: even if the SingStand comes with only one mic, it boasts a secondary microphone input so that you can duet as you like!

Finally, the Memorex SingStand comes with a 10-foot cable and cable management clips just like a pro-grade mic stand; the stand per se is height-adjustable with its 3-piece build so it is usable with children as well. The announced price is $70 and you'll be able to have fun singing come November.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
