Kanye West loses his temper on The Today Show, when Matt Lauer plays video of the VMAs infamous interruption

Kanye West recently tried to mend his reputation as a loudmouth by sitting down with Matt Lauer for an interview on The Today Show. Instead, he only made matters worse by losing his cool on camera and then tweeting up a storm about it.

Now, even his media trainer has quit in the aftermath of the Matt Lauer situation – and she only spent about 3 days with the feisty rapper, the New York Post reports.

According to the tab, though his image consultants advised him not to do the interview, Kanye decided in the 13th hour that he wanted to accept Lauer’s invitation and personally offer his apologies for former President Bush for calling him a “racist.”

“The rapper’s camp on Monday hired Susie Arons, an executive vice president at Rubenstein Communications, for help handling the interview,” the Post writes.

Though Arons told West not to go through with it, she received a call from the rapper’s people when he’d already arrived at the NBC headquarters and was about to go live with Lauer. She rushed there to help him out.

“West shut himself in a dressing room with Susie, and could be heard rehearsing possible questions and answers. But the interview began, and it was as though he had crammed for a test and then his mind went blank,” a show insider says for the Post.

Not only did Kanye go blank but he also completely lost his cool when Lauer played the clip of his rude interruption of Taylor Swift at the VMAs 2009.

“Yo, how am I supposed to talk if you’re going to run the thing in the middle while I’m talking?” Kanye asked, visibly upset about the interruption. During the break, Aron again tried to help him out but failed.

“When Lauer and West took a break, West ‘huddled again with the media trainer because he still hadn’t found a way to express himself,’ said our source,” the Post writes.

The disastrous interview aired Thursday, and Arons resigned from working with him [Friday] morning,” the same report reads.

Contacted for comment, a rep for the rapper called the above story “malicious and clearly manufactured,” but the Post stands by it. Right now, Kanye is in Abu Dhabi.
