Adidas is probably eating its heart out right now. Kanye West is proving his designer skills by selling sneakers like crazy for Nike. The rapper has a limited edition pair of sneakers called “Red October” designed for Nike.

The shoe manufacturer decided to bring the sale online on Sunday, by providing a link on its Twitter page, the Daily Mail reports. The “Air Yeezy II Red Octobers” then quickly sold out in just 11 minutes.

The price for your very own pair of Air Yeezys was $245 (€179.6), but after they were quickly bought by eager customers, they were just as quickly being auctioned on eBay for as much as $7,500 (€5,499), indicating that people were anxious to make a quick buck by reselling them to Kanye fans.

The rapper wore his sneakers during performances, making sure his fans got a good look at them. This move seems to have paid off, now that his product has made such a quick sale.

Kanye has previously spoken out on the matter, making it clear that he didn't appreciate the fact that Nike did not make his shoes more widely available. He even mentioned that the Nike corporation was trying to set him back by not making more of his sneakers.

This comes after Kanye was rejected by Adidas when he came to them for a collaboration on a pair of Kanye West-designed sneakers.

Now, Kanye has proven all of them wrong and showed that promotion and celebrity really do go hand in hand. He has been pushing these shoes since May of last year, wearing them during concerts, on TV appearances and in paparazzi shots. He even made Kim post photos of the shoes on her Instagram.

If you're interested in your own pair of Air Yeezys, head on down to eBay where the pairs in the highest demand are those between sizes 8.5 and 13, with a size 12 being the highest priced at $7,500 (€5,499).
