14 DAY TRIAL // Kanye West is determined to make Kim Kardashian into the biggest thing ever in everything, be it fashion, cultural influence, or business. After declaring that she should get the cover of Vogue (which she did) because she’s the Marilyn Monroe of our times (which she isn’t, according to many), he now believes she’s the “next Coco Chanel.”
Before you wonder too much about what that could possibly mean, Radar Online has an insider vouching that he’s trying to make Kim into a fashion icon. That would be the same Kim that’s always on the worst-dressed lists in showbiz, regardless of whether she just steps out to run errands or is working the red carpet at some event.
It’s true though that Kim’s fashion style has changed since things got more serious with Kanye, and even more since the surprise engagement on her birthday. As per one tipster, that’s Kanye working on Kim, “secretly” mentoring her on what’s fashionable and what’s not.
“Kanye truly believes Kim can be the next Coco Chanel if she puts her mind to it. [Kim] has spent the past year quietly and secretly educating herself on the subject of ultra-high fashion at Kanye’s behest,” says the spy, adding that Kanye wants his baby mama to become “the most fashionable celebrity in the world.”
As it happens, this might not be that far-fetched, if you think about it. Kanye has one foot in the door of the fashion industry, having long added “fashion designer” to his already impressive resume. He’s also connected enough and, perhaps just as importantly, loud and visible enough to get people to do whatever he wants them to do for Kim.
Right now, says the spy, he wants them to teach her how to be fashionable.
“Kim began her education with extensive sit-downs with the design brain trust at Rodante, because Kim wants to evolve to the next level in terms of classiness and taste and luxury. Kanye wants her to focus on becoming a true luxury brand that defines a generation, like famed French fashion designer Coco Chanel — that’s who she is trying to become and that’s who Kanye wants her to become,” says the spy.
The ultimate goal, the report concludes, is to become the biggest, most fashionable and important couple in showbiz: the billion-dollar couple.
At least you can never say about Kanye doesn’t dream big. Kim too, but only to a certain extent.
