For those thinking Kanye West only went public with his love for current girlfriend Kim Kardashian earlier this year, here’s something to disprove that: he was singing about her way back in 2009.

At the time, she was dating Reggie Bush but that didn’t stop Kanye from writing “Knock You Down,” ft. Keri Wilson and Ne Yo, especially for her.

“You was always the cheerleader of my dreams / To seem to only date the head of football teams / And I was the class clown that always kept you laughing / We were never meant to be, baby we just happened,” Kanye raps.

TMZ says it has it on very good authority that he was truly singing about Kim.

“You should leave your boyfriend now,” Kanye says later in the song.
