14 DAY TRIAL // Celebrities say and do the darnedest things! On top of the celebrities who say the darnedest things is singer and entrepreneur Kanye West. In his case, it's still being debated whether it's his ego or his mouth that lands him into trouble more often.
Kanye pulled a typical stunt when he confronted the editor-in-chief of the fashion magazine Vogue, Anna Wintour, why Kim was being overlooked as a model featured on the cover.
This happened, according to Radar, during a power lunch at the Beverly Hills Polo Lounge. The main question that Kanye had for Anna was why she decided that “Girls” star Lena Dunham was considered as a better choice for the February cover when his fiancée Kim was just as famous and talented.
A witness confirms that Kanye said Kim was “just as talented as Lena, if not more so.” According to him, Kim has a much bigger fan base and thus a wider appeal, which would mean selling more magazines.
The witness continues, “To Kanye, it’s insulting that his friend Anna is still refusing to even consider putting Kim on the cover of Vogue. He thinks Anna is listening to a bunch of ‘know-nothing’ corporate haters, as he put it. He’s upset that Anna isn’t willing to do him this personal favor and put Kim on the cover.”
Apparently, Kim's dream, apart from landing a royal wedding, is to be featured on the cover of the iconic fashion magazine, that's considered like a bible by many fashion-savvy women out there.
And since her dream of a Versailles wedding has gone up in smoke, Kanye is trying to make up for it by getting Kim featured on the magazine cover.
As it happens, this isn't the first time Vogue has dissed Kim. Last year in May, in a controversial move that made headline, Vogue cropped Kim out of a picture with Kanye which was used to list as “Best Dressed” column.
According to insiders “Anna is no fan of Kim or any reality star appearing in the pages of the magazine,” which would explain why she chose to sit elsewhere when they shared a VIP box at a concert in Brooklyn.
But because Anna Wintour and Kanye are friends, the fashion icon is said to be considering to put Kim on the cover of either the French or Italian editions of the magazine. This will probably get Kanye off her back and give Kim the acceptance that she covets so desperately.
