Kanye West reveals plans for redesigning Instagram at Cannes Advertising Festival

Not only did Kanye West demand that all labels from water bottles be ripped off at the Cannes Lions Festival this week, as to prevent unintentional promoting of any product for which he hadn't been appropriately paid, but he also revealed plans to modify one of the world's most successful photo sharing platforms.

The rapper said in a conference about celebrities branding products and promoting them that he had big plans for Instagram, the platform used by millions around the world to share their photos with the entire world.

It turns out that Kanye had some difficulties with Instagram that led him to waste four full days trying to edit and post the famous wedding photos with Kim Kardashian. Kanye explained to the eager audience that he had already spoken with Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom.

According to The Mirror, the discussion went something like this: “Now, you know, Instagram is nice. It's nice looking – I'm not knocking it. But in general, everyone spends all of their time looking at their screens on their phones.”

His suggestions are simple: “we should clean that up.” It's not really clear just what Kanye means by “clean up,” but the controversial and outspoken singer is known to have strong opinions about every thing that includes some creative medium.

You see, Kanye prides himself in being somewhat of a designer, although, to hear him say it, he's the world's greatest artist since Steve Jobs and Leonardo Da Vinci. He's already gotten some results with designing sneakers, clothes, art, and his mansion, which has yet to be completed due to the fact that he keeps constantly changing the designs and reconstructing over them.

He's also somewhat of a perfectionist, something that became evident during his many concerts from his recent Yeezus tour, where he would often snap at people in his production team, live on stage, when he sensed that things weren't going his way.

So it makes sense that Kanye would have an opinion about Instagram. During the same conference, Kanye revealed that he was never a fan of Samsung, the electronics giant that's being promoted by good friend and collaborator Jay Z.

The rapper revealed that he could never be a fan of a brand that's not number one and he clearly pointed that Samsung was not number one. Based on the constant praises he has for Steve Jobs, it's clear that he reserves that honor to Apple.

He concluded with a jibe at photographer Annie Leibovitz, who was scheduled to take photos at his wedding but the deal fell through right before the ceremony. “Picture this, the most-liked Instagram photo of all time, shot by Annie Leibovitz. Oh, I’m sorry for dreaming out loud. Again.”
