Lots of goodies to be brought to us this weekend by EA

Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath has just got patched to version 1.01 and, strangely, Electronic Arts feels like celebrating. I call this strange because, in my humble opinion, no game should require patching and, if it does, there would be no reason for celebrations to be held, since it is only common sense to fix something people have paid for. But EA is celebrating and, if we manage to get over the reason behind this weekend-long feast, everything will be more than OK.

But, before we get to hear the details of the parties to be held and prizes to be won, we should know that Patch 1.01 for Kane's Wrath focuses on enhancing multiplayer and fixing some "technical issues some players have been having online". Also, after you install this patch, you'll notice that all nine factions in the game will be more balanced.

And, as I was saying, the release of this patch will be followed by lots of parties and goodies. First, the BattleCast Weekend will kick off tomorrow, at 12 PM Pacific Time and end at midnight on Sunday. Players will enter 1 vs 1 competitions to win all sorts of prizes, including free copies of the upcoming Command and Conquer 3 game. The Ladder Season 2 will also be back, better than ever, with 27 participating countries and a $6,000 grand prize up for grabs. This Friday will mark the beginning of the season which will end three months later, on the 11th of October.

Also, the Weekend of Wrath will kick off on Xbox Live for Kane's fans, with tournaments, prize packages and matches with the Kane's Wrath development team and even Kane himself! Among prizes to be won (on an hourly basis), there are Kane's Wrath gear and even an Xbox 360 Elite console. So, this weekend is going to be all about strategy time!
