KORE Telematics, one of the global leaders in the wireless services industry, focused mainly on machine-to-machine communications (M2M), has announced its collaboration with Motorola Inc. The goal of this collaboration was to obtain CDMA device approval for the MedApps HealthPal MA 106 and the M2M Communications Tracker.

These two devices have obtained approval through the KORE Device Accreditation Service. During the approval process, Motorola provided technical support for KORE, M2M Communications and MedApps. Developed in order to offer support to KORE partners, this service will also reduce costs of CDMA approvals for M2M applications available on the KORE network.

“MedApps and M2M Communications join a growing list of KORE customers who’ve been fast-tracked to CDMA device approval through the KORE service. Since the ‘One-Stop’ CDMA Accreditation Service debuted, we’ve fast-tracked nine devices in fields such as fleet/AVL, environmental monitoring and healthcare and have a similar number in the pipeline. By taking advantage of the service, our customers can focus on getting applications to market, rather than expending time and money on lengthy device approval processes,” Alex Brisbourne, president and COO of KORE Telematics, said.

With the help of the KORE cellular M2M network, the MedApps Mobile Wireless Health Monitoring System can remotely gather information, store, as well as provide detailed and accurate health reports from virtually any location. One of the core components in the system, the MedApps HealthPal MA106, has a more patient-oriented use, being able to permanently gather information directly from their healthcare providers. Also by using MedApps, clinicians have the possibility to closely monitor and review daily health readings.

M2M Communications is one of the most important suppliers in web-to-wireless monitoring and control solutions, oriented mainly towards irrigation markets and energy management. Through the KORE network, the M2M Comm Tracker, a solution designed to interface with the irrigation equipment, can easily monitor operations or relay user commands to the desired equipment.

“At Motorola we provide our customers with best in class technology and expert support. Our wireless modules enable trusted 24/7 wireless connectivity to critical applications for the healthcare and environmental monitoring markets, which demand reliable solutions – from the core of the wireless module through the network,” Dennis Kelly, NA sales director, Motorola M2M Solutions, explained. “We are proud to partner with KORE to provide our mutual customers strong commercial and technical services, allowing them to launch products as rapidly as possible with minimal distractions. Together with KORE, Motorola can offer its M2M customers a robust and dependable end-to-end solution.”
