Well-known memory manufacturer Kingmax has recently announced on its official website the fastest line of SD cards the company has ever made. The cards are compatible with the SDHC and SDXC standards and their range of capacities sits between 8 GB and 64 GB.

The two fastest cards presented were the 64 GB SD Card Pro max that works with the SDXC UHS-I interface using the exFAT file format and the 16 GB SD Card Pro that's SDHC standard compliant.

On the official news page from Kingmax, the SD Card Pro cards are presented as using the same SDXC UHS-I standard, but we don’t think that is the case and we think that’s likely a mistake. That’s why we’ve turned to the official product page for details on the specifications.

Therefore, the KINGMAX SDHC Pro memory card uses the SD 3.0 standard and is characterized as a Class 10 card. The SDHC Pro surpasses the Class 10 specifications and manifests a write speed of over 20 MB/s, thus satisfying the need for write speed of the FullHD recording devices.

Such a high write speed ensures high-quality images during high-speed continuous shooting and proves the SDHC Pro is a very suitable memory card for HD still images, high-speed motion as well as Full HD 1080P videos.

Kingmax touts compatibility with the exFAT file system that allows these memory cards to break from the limitation of 4GB in one single file, but it cautions WindowsXP users that they need at least SP2 with a specific update regarding exFAT to make it work with the card.

The card also comes in a 32 GB variant and both items have built-in write protection to prevent data loss. The read speed is rated at 55 MB/s while the lowest operating temperature is 25 degrees Celsius.

The big brother announced by Kingmax is called 64 GB SDXC Class 10+ Waterproof pro max.

The card exhibits write speeds of over 30 MB/s and uses the patented PIP packaging technology to protect it against dust and make it waterproof.

All other specifications remain the same, except the fact that this card is using the SDXC UHS-I interface.
