Seeking to drive the energy efficiency of the NIDIA GeForce GTX 460 video card as low as possible, Galaxy's European brand KFA2 has brought out the GeForce GTX 460 Green Edition and even a dual-card GTX 460 pack, for SLI setups.

As end-users surely know by now, Green stands for a product that has a high degree of energy efficiency, or at least higher than others in its class.

In the case of graphics cards, especially high-end ones like the GTX 460, extra performance often does not have as great a bearing on its appeal as power efficiency.

This is because most current games do not require the massive video rendering capabilities of the upper-level cards, let alone SLI setups.

Thus, KFA2 brought forth a version of the GeForce GTX 460 which, though it sticks to reference clocks, boasts tweaked PCB components, for a 10% reduction to power draw.

This means that the card has 336 CUDA cores, 1GB of VRAM, a memory interface of 256 bits and clocks of 675 MHz for the GPU, 1,250 for the shaders and 3,600 for the memory.

What this also implies is that the card has a single 6-pin power connector, instead of the two on the reference design.

As for communication with a variety of display solutions, the company threw in dual-DVI and HDMI outputs.

This isn't the only new product that KFA2 has announced, however, the company having also prepared a dual-card bundle meant for SLI multi-GPU configurations.

These two identical models are factory overclocked, to 700 MHz for the GF104 chip, 1,400 MHz for the shaders and 3,696 MHz for the VRAM. They also come with Flip-fan coolers.

Unfortunately, prices have not been mentioned yet, but European stores should soon receive the newcomers, which means that this final detail shouldn't stay hidden for long.
