Justin Theroux may be tabloid fodder today but he was, until just recently, one of the most low-key actors, writers and directors in Hollywood. As he puts it in his new interview with NY Mag, the guy we read about in magazines is not him.

If the name rings a bell, it's because it's often pronounced in the same sentence as that of Jennifer Aniston, whom he's been dating for roughly a year.

The two met and fell in love on the set of the upcoming rom-com “Wanderlust.” They have been inseparable ever since.

However, his romance with Jen is not something that Justin is willing to bring up just to promote a new film. He understands the interest in him and his relationship, but he's not about to satisfy it in any way.

“I understand the curiosity, but other than saying I am happy, I am not going to indulge it. That’s building your own torture device,” Theroux says.

Still, he does reveal that he and Jennifer have adopted a dog together, and that it looks like it “smoked an exploding cigar.”

He also goes into the specifics of how his life has changed since he started dating one of the most famous women on the planet – it's not necessarily a good thing, he says.

“The first thing fame asks you to trade on is your personality,” Justin explains, adding that he finds everything that's happening to him right now “bizarre.”

“[Fame is like] having shoes that are slightly too heavy – it can slow you down and make you more cautious,” he adds.

He's learned to live with the intense level of exposure, perhaps because he realizes he doesn't really have a choice.

“I have to be okay with the fact that there’s a narrative that’s going to get written regardless of what is the truth. Right now, there’s a whole other me out there walking around, and I do everything in my power to avoid that guy, because that’s not who I am,” Theroux says.

This is officially the first time that Justin Theroux speaks on his relationship to Jennifer Aniston and, if one is to believe celebrity bloggers, he handled it very well.
