A lot of Justin's latest antics and erratic behavior have significantly dented his reputation as well as landing him in trouble with the police. Now it's emerged that the troubled singer may have bigger problems than an attitude.

TMZ reports that Justin Bieber is currently abusing a cough syrup heavily laced with codeine. The cough syrup is called Actavis and because of its high concentration of codeine, it's rather expensive at $800 (€590) for 1 ounce (28g).

In fact, the drug is so expensive and exclusive, you can't get it as an over-the-counter medicine. It's distributed only on prescription or it can be obtained from outside the United States. Bieber, a resident of Canada, is said to get it from outside of the country by unspecified means.

The same sources that reported on his cough syrup addiction also say the singer downs between 8 to 12 ounces (226g – 240g) every day. They also say that people from Justin's entourage are urging him to seek help in rehab for his addiction but he's having none of it.

This is the first drug-related rumor Justin has been involved in. Last year, when his tour van was searched, police found drugs but it couldn't be connected with the singer so the driver of the bus was charged with attempting to smuggle the drugs into the country.

His recent Australian tour was also marred by drug-related incidents, as one of his people in his entourage was detained at customs possession of drug paraphernalia with drug residue still in it.

Just last week, police found ecstasy and Xanax in his residence when the raided it over the egg attack incident. At the time, they established the drugs belonged to one of Justin's live-in friends, Lil' Za, who was arrested for possession and later released on bail.

At the moment, Justin is still one of the main suspects in an egging incident that caused significant damage to one of his neighbor's house in the exclusive gated community where the artist lives.
